Recycling in Nashville

Did you make some resolutions this year? I did, lots of them but my biggest is to be kinder to the planet. It's a few months later and I am still figuring out what that means exactly. One thing I have tried to do better with is recycling. I thought I would give you the latest and greatest about what what our friend Curby(curbside pick up) is up to. Do you need a reminder of when they are coming? They will call or Email if you request it. How cool is that?!?!They have expanded what they collect too! Currently, you may put paper, cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, and all plastic containers such as margerine, butter, yogurt, etc.. They don't want your baskets, clam shells(fast food containers), or styrofoam. You will have to bring your glass to one of their drop off centers.

Do you have any old computers, pdf's, ipods, etc.. hanging around? Don't throw them away!! Most of them contain some really bad for the earth stuff like lead or mercurcy. You could go the reuse route but if it won't make a good coffee table, lamp shade, or terradactyl; try donating it. Otherwise, there are local opportunities to recycle your computers and other tech stuff.

Good luck and get your green on!
